Thanksgiving Countdown!

I am typing my BLOG!
I went Thanksgiving shopping today. I usually shop the Monday before Thanksgiving Thursday, but the aisle in both the parking lot and the store are filled to capacity. Many times I have to run to two different stores to purchase my traditional holiday items. We all have favorites and we use what best works for us. I do not like to substitute when everything is riding on a big feast for my guest. There are no shortcuts! I really do go all out. And a beautiful centerpiece that says, "Thanksgiving!"

I normally purchase everything I need for my "Fruitcake Cookies", but the store was out of the fruit. I bake them later on in December to give my family and friends for Christmas and I always reserve a plate full for Santa Claus. I was told more fruit was coming in, to check back around December 1st. I did manage to get 1lb of pecans for $6.16. I may use 1/2lb for a pecan pie to go along with my pumpkin pie. Thanksgiving would not be Thanksgiving without a pumpkin pie with 'real' whipping cream slightly sweetened and a dash of pure vanilla extract or 'real' vanilla beans.
It is so Delicious!

I spent time in the rain (of course it would rain while grocery shopping). My shopping cart was filled and piled high, but I managed to get everything into the truck of my car, all while holding my purse and umbrella. I am amazed how much I can get done in a course of one day. I think, those multivitamins I take have helped a great deal.

And typing my blog - It is like a virtual diary.

HONEYSUCKLE WHITE® Turkey - The Best!
This one is a little over 15lbs. I am straining!

Sweet Potato Casserole is my favorite -
Covered with toasted marshmallows!

Ocean Spray® Jellied Cranberry Sauce
The only kind my family will eat.

McCormick® Spices and Seasoning are a family tradition.

Turkey, Sweet Potatoes, Cranberry Sauce and great spices and seasonings are stables at my feast!

Thanksgiving is one of the few times I go all out and have family and friends over to share my favorite of all holidays. I love the meaning of Thanksgiving, just as I love the 'true' meaning of Christmas. It is a time for counting our blessings and giving thanks unto our Heavenly Father.

Psalm 100:4

King James Version (KJV)
4Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
