Before the Dean children were sent off to the orphanage. My Grandmother Betty Lou, the youngest was spared, because of her age. She lived with her maternal Grandparents.

After the Dean children were removed from the orphanage and reunited, when their father Clayton Benjamin married a young woman, Jean. During their marriage they had five children together.
